I like gear! As a shutterbug I am attached to my cameras. And I have several. My Canon Cybershot, my Canon Rebel DSLR and my iPhone camera.
I’m a fan of online shopping versus going to the store. Here’s a small showcase of cool gadgets.
And if any of you want to ship me the latest Apple Air Laptop – DM me and I’m sure we can work it out =)
In terms of what gear to purchase ~ read Ken Rockwell’s site – look him up. He’s a professional photographer with great tips for the rest of us who aren’t.
As for me – I’ve taken thousands of fantastic photos with my handy dandy point and shoot Canon Cybershot. I’m partial to Canon – they have the fastest shutter response time and their interface is super easy. Most of my photos (about 95%) of them were taken with my point and shoot. When I decided to upgrade I spent countless weekends pouring over all the reviews and it was easy to get caught up in, well if I spend this much more I can get this camera with that feature etc. etc.
I ended up getting the smallest DSLR – and I only got it because I wanted to be able to print large prints of some of my travel photos. I did invest in a wide angle, a fish-eye (for giggles) and I have the lense my camera came with.
And even then… my first goal is always to take an interesting photo that tells a story the message or conveys an emotion instead of thinking that the gear is going to make for a fancy photo.
Nevertheless, gear is nice. So in case you want to shop – here’s a link to Amazon’s store.
